A poem about how connections can be formed without words while traveling.
Her dark curious eyes
flicked from the ground
to my large form
fair arms
hot pink cheeks
blonde hair sticking
to glistening sweat.
When finally
her eyes met mine
I smiled, relieved.
Her stern face split
into a large grin
crinkling the edges of her eyes
surging a connection between us
the kind that can only be stitched
out of eye contact
and a genuine smile.
